Gabriel Jesus had a wonderful debut half-season for Manchester City, scoring seven goals in just 10 Premier League appearances since joining in January. The 20-year-old Brazilian didn’t think he’d be a top player so quickly.
Gabriel Jesus on the Premier League: “I thought it would be harder”
The Brazilian star is well on his way to becoming England’s best attacker.

“I thought it would be harder,” he told ESPN. “It hasn’t been easy, for sure, I changed my life completely, but I’ll never complain about it. I’m grateful for being here, realising a dream, playing in Europe.”
Even though most felt it would take Gabriel Jesus some time to adapt to the Premier League, it was clear he’d be a big contributor eventually. He scored 21 goals in all competitions during his final season with Palmeiras, winning the Brasileirão in the process. He’d also established himself as first choice for Brazil before making the move, striking up a great chemistry with Neymar.
If you’re not familiar with Gabriel’s pre-City career, here’s a good mixtape of his skills from before his move to England. There’s a great chance that he’ll be the Premier League’s best attacker before his City days are done.
