Australia’s task on Sunday is simple to understand, but rather more difficult to execute. They have to beat table-topping Chile to stand any chance of progressing into the Confederations Cup semifinals, having so far picked up just one point from their first two matches.
Confederations Cup 2017: Chile vs. Australia start time, TV channel, and live stream
Australia need to beat Chile if they’re to make it into the Confederations Cup semifinals.

Chile, meanwhile, beat Cameroon on the opening matchday, and followed it up with a draw against Germany. Goal difference keeps the South American side clear of the reigning world champions in the table, a healthy three points clear of the Socceroos. They’re sure to fancy their chances of picking up the point they need to guarantee their safe passage into the knockouts.
Australia were hit by two injury blows before the start of the tournament, with captain and midfield enforced Mile Jedinak, and young defender Brad Smith, both picking up late injuries. However, they’re likely to start with the same lineup that drew with Cameroon last time out, and will be hoping to take advantage of any Chile reshuffling. Juan Antonio Pizzi should have a full-strength team available, though may take this opportunity to rest a few of his star players.
