Mexico are sitting pretty on top of CONCACAF right now, three points clear atop of the table in the Hex round of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. And with a visit from Honduras coming on Wednesday, it looks like they could extend that lead as they head into the second half of the round.

The leaders CONCACAF qualifying for the World Cup are looking to extend their advantage.

Mexico haven’t lost to Honduras since 2013, though during the fourth round of qualifying they did drop points to Honduras in a draw in Mexico City. Of course, that match came well after Mexico had secured a spot in the Hex — in fact, those were the only points Mexico dropped in the fourth round — and they hammered Los Catrachos, 3-0, in Honduras to open that round’s group action.
