USMNT vs. Nicaragua live stream: How to watch 2017 Gold Cup online

Unlike other major international tournaments, the Gold Cup does not play the final group stage games at the same time. Group stage games are packaged together, two to a venue, so that’s not possible. This means that the United States will get to watch Panama play Martinique, then know exactly how many goals they need to beat Nicaragua by to finish on top of Group B.

Going into Saturday’s games, the USMNT and Panama are tied on points and goal differential, with the Americans having a one-goal advantage. They’ll be watching the early match hoping Panama struggles and keeps their task easy.

The USMNT comes into this match following two poor performances. They were outplayed in a draw with the Panamanians, then defended terribly in their 3-2 win over Martinique.

While Bruce Arena has almost certainly decided on some players to send home, a few others might be playing for their jobs against Nicaragua. Darlington Nagbe, Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey are all ready to replace five Americans at the conclusion of the group stage. Arena has one more switch to make as well, if he chooses.

Between the prospect of getting dropped and knowing exactly what score they need to post before the game, there’s no excuse for the Americans to not put in an excellent performance on Saturday. But if their first two Gold Cup games are any indication, they just might not be good enough.
