Inter take on Lyon in Nanjing in Monday’s International Champions Cup clash.

Both of these sides already have three friendlies under their belts, with Lyon having fared rather better than their illustrious Italian opponents. The former have won all three of their matches, including convincing wins over both Celtic and Ajax; Inter, by contrast, were beaten by Nürnberg before being held to a goalless draw by Schalke.
Inter Milan summer signing to watch: Borja Valero
A 32-year-old journeyman isn’t a particularly exciting summer signing, but until Inter officially confirm the capture of Sampdoria’s Patrik Schick, he’s certainly their most eye-catching acquisition. The veteran playmaker has arrived after five years at Fiorentina, and will be hoping to establish himself as a mainstay of Luciano Spalletti’s starting lineup. He’s a classy player, and could yet prove a shrewd signing.
Olympique Lyonnais summer signing to watch: Bertrand Traoré
By contrast, Lyon’s new signing Bertrand Traoré is just beginning his career. The 21-year-old Burkinabé forward has joined the French side from Chelsea on a permanent deal after a thoroughly impressive season on loan at Ajax last year, and is tasked with filling the big boots of Alexandre Lacazette. It won’t be easy, but he’s certainly got the makings of a great player.
Compared to other friendlies, is this worth my time?
If we’re being honest, this isn’t a particularly exciting one for the neutral — a fact not helped by the distinct lack of any big signings. If you’re not a supporter of either side, we’d be tempted to give it a miss. 4/10.
