Barcelona and Manchester United have a lot of questions to answer.

It’s an interesting matchup, with the not-quite-invincible superteam in Barcelona looking to regain their footing a bit this season matched up against a returning giant in Manchester United, who look to be on a big upswing after several years of doldrums. Both teams have been having fascinating summers on the transfer market with lots still to come, but seeing where they are now is going to be valuable to both clubs right now.
Fun Barcelona player to watch: Nelson Semedo
Barcelona struggled a bit at right back last season after the departure of Dani Alves, and spent big money earlier this summer to sign Semedo to try to help finally replace him. A 23-year-old Portuguese international, Semedo has a lot of the same characteristics that helped make Alves so important to Barcelona — he’s fast, he’s great on the ball, and he’s got great passing vision for a fullback. Whether he can easily make the leap in quality from Benfica in Portugal to Barcelona has yet to be seen, but he’s definitely a player to keep a close eye on who could be a whole lot of fun in a match like this.
Fun Manchester United player to watch: Marcus Rashford
Perhaps Romelu Lukaku seems like the more obvious choice here as the big-money new attacking signing, but bear with us for a second here. Rashford is still just 19 years old, and is playing in a friendly tournament against freaking Barcelona on another continent. If that doesn’t become an excuse for him to show off and have himself a great time on the pitch, then he just doesn’t know how to have fun.
Compared to other friendlies, is this worth my time?
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are always worth your time. Neymar is too, assuming that he plays and isn’t jetting off to Paris Saint-Germain by the time the match starts. Manchester United have loaded up on fun players too and gotten rid of deeply un-fun guys like Wayne Rooney, so that helps a lot. 8/10.
