The first leg of the Supercopa de España couldn’t have gone much better for Real Madrid — they beat Barcelona 3-1 at the Camp Nou, making them massive favorites to lift the trophy after Wednesday’s second leg. But they’ll be playing that game without Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be suspended after picking up a red card. And they’ll be lucky if he’s not suspended for any La Liga games too, since he reacted to his sending off by pushing the official.
Cristiano Ronaldo scores amazing goal, gets red card and pushes ref 2 minutes later
The best and worst of Ronaldo, all at once.

That red card came after Ronaldo scored a goal that will show up on his end of career highlight reels. With his team under a ton of pressure, he started a counter attack, then finished it with a spectacular 20-yard blast into the top corner after putting Gerard Piqué in a blender.
As is customary after scoring an amazing goal against your rival, Ronaldo celebrated by taking off his shirt, for which he was shown the FIFA-mandated yellow card. That’s usually not a problem for Ronaldo — he doesn’t commit risky fouls and he’s cut down on his diving considerably in recent years.
But when Ronaldo went down under a challenge from Samuel Umtiti two minutes later, referee Ricardo De Burgos deemed the Madrid legend’s fall to the ground a dive. It was a bad call, but Ronaldo reacted in the wrong way, by pushing De Burgos.
And now, Ronaldo is likely to miss more than one game. His second yellow rules him out for the second leg of the Supercopa automatically, but it’s likely that a longer ban will come for the shove.
