The Major League Soccer All-Star Game is here, and it’s a unique display unlike any other All-Star Game in American sports. They don’t do a traditional, conference-vs.-conference or league-vs.-league or any other such “normal,” internal game. Instead, MLS pits their best players against the best clubs in the game, and this year, they’re hosting defending Champions League winners Real Madrid for one of the biggest All-Star Games yet in league history.
MLS All-Star Game 2017: Start time, TV schedule for MLS All-Stars vs. Real Madrid
The best of MLS take on Real Madrid in a match made for pride.

It’s a big game for MLS, hoping to get back on a winning streak after losing to Arsenal last year. They’d won their last two All-Star Games before that, beating Tottenham Hotspur in 2015 and taking down Bayern Munich in 2014, a pair of results that are impressive even in light of the fact that their opponents are still in the midst of their pre-seasons.
But Real Madrid are going to be a huge and different challenge, not least because Real Madrid have already had plenty of time in the United States in the last couple of weeks for the International Champions Cup. There’s no jetlag, no weirdly shortened training, and they’ve gotten plenty of minutes to prepare. The MLS All-Stars — this year lead by Bastian Schweinsteiger, Michael Bradley, Tim Howard, David Villa, Sebastian Giovinco, and Kaka — are in for a big test, and it’s going to be a game well worth watching.
