Barcelona haven’t even played their first match of the La Liga season, and they’re already not enjoying their campaign. They need a win in a bad way to boost their spirits, and they’re hoping that they can get exactly that against Real Betis.

Things are looking glum for Barcelona, with their board under fire for the way they handled Neymar’s departure, and the club beleaguered after a 5-1 aggregate embarrassment at the hands of arch-rivals Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa over the last week. They’re beat up, their spirits are low, and they need anything they can grasp onto in order to turn things around and start a positive run of momentum. Betis aren’t going to just lie down, though, and they’ve got the ability to scrap with anyone — if Barcelona start slow against their visitors, they could be in for even more blows to their confidence.

Barcelona will be without Luis Suarez for the next month with a knee injury, an both Andries Iniesta and Gerard Pique are in doubt with injuries of their own. Add in the absence of Rafinha, and Barcelona’s core depth is being sorely tested in this match. Real Betis, meanwhile, are actually completely healthy,
