The North London Derby has been one of the most entertaining rivalries in the Premier League to watch in recent years, and that’s certainly looking like that’s going to continue being the case when these two titans of London clash on Saturday, with top-four race implications and massive amounts of pride on the line at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur are not just trying to work their way back into the top four after a recent lull in form sent them tumbling out of it, they’re also trying to regain some damaged pride after losing to Arsenal earlier this season. That was their first loss in the North London Derby since 2015, and they’ll be eager to get a strong measure of revenge and send the Gunners home packing with a loss.

Arsenal’s own form has been all over the place of late — they have humiliating losses to Bournemouth and Swansea City among their last four league games, but the other two were thumping wins over Crystal Palace and Everton. They also have a close win over Chelsea in the League Cup in that span, and there’s a lot of optimism going around the Emirates right now, especially after an end to the transfer window many fans felt was strong, bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, albeit at the cost of Alexis Sanchez.

A win for either team here could be a huge kick of momentum for them, with both teams disappointed in their recent runs of form and wanting to claw their way back into the EPL’s top four clubs. That probably won’t happen this weekend, but a big Derby win like this can get them back on the path they need to be on to get there. There’s a lot at stake here in an already high-stakes rivalry clash, and that should make this match even more entertaining than the North London Derby normally is.
