The seventh day of the 2018 World Cup saw three of the biggest teams in international football take the pitch, with Portugal, Uruguay, and Spain each in action — and getting close wins.

Riding high after their dramatic draw with Spain, Portugal and its star goal-scorer kept the momentum going with a 1-0 win over Morocco in the Wednesday opener. In the middle game of the day, Uruguay edged Saudi Arabia, 1-0, with Luis Suarez grabbing the only goal of the clash. Spain then bounced back with a narrow 1-1 win over Iran.
