College football odds, Week 8: Clemson, LSU betting favorites in tough Saturday games

Clemson hosts NC State and LSU hosts Mississippi State in two of four games between ranked opponents on the college football betting slate at the sportsbooks this week.

The No. 16 NC State Wolfpack are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games against the No. 3 Clemson Tigers despite an 0-6 straight up record in their last six games against the Tigers. The Wolfpack will try to snap that six-game losing streak against Clemson with a road upset this Saturday.

NC State is a 17-point road underdog at Clemson at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Both of these teams enter this game undefeated with North Carolina State at 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS so far this season and Clemson at 6-0 SU and 2-4 ATS. The Tigers have won their last 11 games at home.

After falling all the way down to No. 13 after losing to Florida the previous week, the LSU Tigers are back up to No. 5 in the AP Top 25 after pulling off an impressive upset over then No. 2 Georgia. LSU will try to hold on to its reclaimed ranking as a 7-point home favorite this Saturday against the No. 22 Mississippi State Bulldogs. Mississippi State has covered the spread in each of its last four games against LSU.

The Michigan Wolverines are all the way up to No. 6 after defeating Wisconsin last Saturday. The Wolverines are 6.5-point road favorites this Saturday visiting the No. 24 Michigan State Spartans. Michigan State is 8-2 SU and 10-0 ATS in its last 10 games against the Wolverines per the OddsShark College Football Database.

The No. 12 Oregon Ducks ended the Washington Huskies’ hopes of earning a playoff spot with an overtime win last Saturday. The Ducks now find themselves as a 2-point road underdog facing the No. 25 Washington State Cougars. Oregon is 0-8 ATS in its last eight games against Washington State.

Rounding out the Top 10 in action this week are No. 1 Alabama at Tennessee, No. 2 Ohio State (-13.5) at Purdue, No. 9 Oklahoma (-9) at TCU and No. 10 UCF (-25) at East Carolina.

The spread on the Alabama at Tennessee game likely won’t come until later in the week when the status of Alabama’s starting QB Tua Tagovailoa becomes more clear. Purdue is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games against Ohio State.
