Florida Gators
After an early-season loss to Kentucky as 13.5-point favorites, the Gators appeared to be on their way to another disappointing season after they limped their way to the finish line with a 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS record over their last seven games in 2017.
Instead, Florida bounced back with a vengeance, ripping off a 5-0 SU and ATS run that includes upset wins over Mississippi State and LSU. With Feleipe Franks taking a step forward at quarterback this season and the defense playing at a top level, the Gators have earned their spot in the AP Top 25 poll’s Top 10.
The Gators were 0-8 SU and 1-7 ATS in their previous eight games as a betting underdog before going 2-0 SU and ATS as one this season per the OddsShark College Football Database.
Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia entered its last game against LSU as the No. 2 team in the nation in the midst of a 10-1 SU and 7-3-1 ATS run, with the only blemish during that run being a three-point loss in the National Championship Game to Alabama.
But as a 7-point road underdog, the Bulldogs had a meltdown in a 36-16 loss to the Tigers. The Bulldogs have had a bye week to try to pick up the pieces and to get back on track. Georgia is 14-3 SU in its last 17 games against SEC opponents.
Saturday’s total is set at 51.5 points. The UNDER is 5-2 in the last seven games between the Gators and the Bulldogs.
The “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” always has a playoff atmosphere, but this year will be extra special due to the stakes involved. The winner of this team will keep control of its own destiny in the SEC East title picture and in the College Football Playoff picture while the loser will likely be knocked out of both.
