Manchester City and Liverpool are both undefeated and top the English Premier League table with matching 6-1-0 records through the first seven weeks of the 2018-19 season. Sole possession of first place is on the line this Sunday when these two clubs meet in Liverpool.

Liverpool is a slight favorite at home to win this showdown going off at +155 on the Premier League odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Manchester City would pay +170 on an upset while the draw odds in this showdown would pay +255.

After kicking off the season with a perfect 6-0-0 record, Liverpool finally failed to earn all three points in a matchup last Saturday. It was still a solid result however picking up a point in a 1-1 draw on the road against Chelsea.

The key to finishing the season atop the table is earning at least a point in big games on the road and then winning your big games at home. Liverpool will try to do just that this Sunday against Manchester City.

Manchester City has bounced back from a disappointing 1-1 draw on the road against Wolverhampton with four straight wins over its last four matches, bringing the team’s goal differential on the season to +18 with 21 goals for and three goals against. Since April of 2017, Manchester City is a remarkable 44-7-2 across its last 53 Premier League matches. City is 5-1-1 in its last seven matches against Liverpool.

Since opening the season with a perfect 5-0-0 start, Chelsea has settled for draws in each of its last two matches against West Ham United and against Liverpool. Chelsea (-165) will have a good opportunity to get back into the win column this Sunday on the road against Southampton (+500 to win, +315 to draw). Southampton is just 1-2-4 on the season so far.

Rounding out the top of the table, Tottenham (-400) hosts Cardiff City (+1300 to win, +550 to draw) on Saturday and Arsenal (-150) visits Fullham (+400 to win, +335 to draw) on Sunday. Arsenal started the season off with an 0-0-2 record but has since climbed into the Top 5 in the standings with five straight wins including back-to-back clean sheet wins over Everton and Watford.
