Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines fell all the way down to No. 21 in the AP Top 25 when they lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 24-17 in their season opening game. Since then, both the Wolverines and Fighting Irish haven’t lost a game, and both currently sit in the Top 5 of the College Football Playoff Rankings released this week.

Coming off a smothering performance in which it held the Michigan State Spartans to just 94 total yards in a 21-7 win, the Michigan defense ranks best in the nation on total defense allowing only 220 yards per game; 42 yards fewer than the next best team.

Since the start of the 2016 season, Michigan is 17-2 SU and 10-9 ATS in 19 games at home per the OddsShark College Football Database. The Wolverines are 6-1 ATS over their last seven games at home.

Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State may be the most talented two-loss team in the nation with those two losses coming by one point to Ohio State and four points to Michigan State. The Nittany Lions rank 11th in the nation in scoring offense with 41 points per game and are 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS on the season.

Without much left on the horizon for Penn State to play for this season, playing spoiler with an upset at the Big House would be huge for the program as it looks to regain some momentum before the 2019 season.

Saturday’s total is set at 52.5 points. The OVER is 9-2 in Penn State’s last 11 games and 3-0 in the last three games between these two teams.

The Michigan at Ohio State game at the end of the season has been circled on college football fans’ schedules since the start of the season. But for that game to be played for the highest stakes, the Wolverines need to take care of business this Saturday against a dangerous foe.
