Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia bounced back from a disappointing 36-16 road loss at LSU with a big win over Florida in Jacksonville, rolling to a 36-17 win as 7-point favorites. Jake Fromm shook off one of the worst games of his career with a three-touchdown turnover-free game against the Gators.
The Bulldogs will need Fromm in top form this Saturday to assure that another disaster like the LSU game doesn’t unfold.
Before that road loss to LSU, the Bulldogs were 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS in their previous nine games on the road per the OddsShark College Football Database.
Kentucky Wildcats
Coming into this season off of back-to-back 7-6 SU campaigns, no one was expecting the Wildcats to be anything more than a middle-of-the-pack team in the SEC.
But with a defense that ranks 10th in the nation in total yards at 295 against per game and best in the nation in scoring defense allowing only 13 points per game, Kentucky remarkably enters this game with the same 7-1 SU and 4-4 ATS record as the Bulldogs. A road loss in overtime to Texas A&M is the only thing preventing the Wildcats from entering this game with an undefeated record.
Saturday’s total is set at 44.5 points. The UNDER is 5-0 in Kentucky’s last five games.
What once looked like just another game on Georgia’s schedule has become one of the nation’s biggest games of the week. The winner of this game will clinch the SEC East and have the chance to play in the SEC Championship Game.
Kentucky’s surprising run this season has been largely taken with a grain of salt around the nation, but an upset win over Georgia would leave no doubt about the team’s legitimacy as a contender.
