The Kansas City Chiefs are 9-0 straight up and 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs can extend that winning streak to 10 games with a win over the Chargers at home this Thursday night.

Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes’ breakout season has not lost any steam as the weeks have gone on. The second-year starter leads the NFL in passing yards with 4,300 and touchdowns with 43, and his 115.2 passer rating is second only to Drew Brees.
Kansas City ranks 30th in the league in total yards allowed and 28th in points allowed, but thanks to Mahomes and his supporting cast on offense, the Chiefs currently hold the top seed in the AFC with a record of 11-2 SU and 8-4-1 ATS.
With a win on Thursday, the Chiefs would clinch the top spot in the AFC West. Kansas City is 20-1 SU and 15-6 ATS in its last 21 games against division rivals per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Los Angeles Chargers
While other teams have been grabbing the headlines, the Chargers have quietly been one of the NFL’s best teams.
Los Angeles has shaken off a 1-2 SU and ATS start to the season to go 9-1 SU and 6-4 ATS over its last 10 games, keeping pace with the Chiefs as the playoffs rapidly approach. The Chargers are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 road games against division rivals.
Thursday night’s total is set at 53 points. The UNDER is 9-2 in Kansas City’s last 11 games at home.
If the Chiefs win on Thursday night, they will lock up the AFC West and be well on their way to the top seed in the AFC. But if the Chargers pull off the upset, these two teams will enter Week 16 tied in the standings with matching 11-3 SU records.
It doesn’t seem fair that one of these teams will find itself playing a road game in the wild card round, but that could be the fate that awaits the loser of this game.
