Los Angeles Rams
The most explosive offense in the NFL had no answer for the Chicago Bears defense last Sunday night, managing just six points and 214 total yards in a 15-6 road loss to the Bears.
Jared Goff passed for only 180 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions, and Todd Gurley was held to just 28 yards on 11 carries. The Rams had scored at least 29 points in each of their previous six games and averaged 37.2 points per game over that stretch.
Even after the loss, the Rams are still tied for the best record in the NFL at 11-2 SU. Their ATS record is much less impressive however with a 2-6-1 ATS mark over the team’s last nine games per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Philadelphia Eagles
With a 29-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, the Eagles fell to 6-7 SU and 4-9 ATS on the season, all but ending their chances of returning to the playoffs to defend their Super Bowl crown.
Hopes of finishing the season on a 3-0 SU run took a major hit this week with the news that quarterback Carson Wentz could be shut down for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his back. The Eagles are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games as a double-digit underdog with one outright upset.
Sunday night’s total is set at 52.5 points. The OVER is 6-1 in Philadelphia’s last seven games on the road.
After getting embarrassed in prime time last Sunday and wanting to avoid any negative momentum before the playoffs begin, the Rams should come out fired up with their best effort on Sunday night. With Wentz out, the Eagles won’t have a chance in a shootout, so their best chance at keeping this one close would have to come from a big performance on defense.
