Tennessee Titans
The Titans didn’t earn any style points in their 26-22 win over the New York Jets last Sunday, but a fourth quarter comeback helped Tennessee avoid disaster as 10-point favorites and improve to 6-6 SU and ATS on the season.
Since beating Dallas on the road and New England at home back in the beginning of November, the Titans have not looked sharp in their last three games, allowing 31.3 points per game over that stretch. Tennessee allowed just 16.8 points per game through the first nine games of 2018.
Over their last six games against the Jaguars, the Titans are 5-1 SU and 4-1-1 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Jacksonville Jaguars
It is hard to believe that just one season ago the Jaguars finished the regular season with a record of 10-6 SU and 9-7 ATS and advanced to the AFC Championship Game with postseason wins over Buffalo and Pittsburgh.
Jacksonville picked up a 6-0 win over Indianapolis last week to mercifully bring to an end the 0-7 SU and 0-5-2 ATS slump that the team had been mired in since the beginning of October. The Jaguars’ 16.9 points per game on offense ranks 30th in the NFL.
Thursday night’s total is set at 37.5 points. The OVER is 5-2 in Jacksonville’s last seven road games against Tennessee.
Facing a remaining slate of Jacksonville, at New York Giants, Washington and Indianapolis, the Titans get three of their last four games at home and all of them against teams currently at or below .500. Tennessee can make a strong push for a wild card spot if it wins out, but the margin for error is slim.
