Houston Rockets
When the Rockets bounced back from their 1-5 SU and ATS start with an 8-2 SU and 6-4 ATS run over their next 10 games, it looked as though the season was back on track. But since then, Houston is just 2-5 SU and ATS over its last seven games.
James Harden is the NBA’s leading scorer averaging 30.6 points per game, but a Rockets offense that ranked second in the league in scoring last year is all the way down to 18th in 2018. With a depleted supporting cast, Houston suddenly doesn’t look as dangerous as it did just one year ago.
Houston is a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS in its last four games in Utah including last year’s two playoff games in the second round per the OddsShark NBA Database.
Utah Jazz
The Jazz crushed the San Antonio Spurs 139-105 on Tuesday night to bring their record to 3-1 SU and ATS over their last four games and 12-13 SU and ATS on the season.
Utah still has one of the best defenses in the league this season ranking seventh in the NBA allowing 107.8 points per game, but with offense up around the league the Jazz are trying to find a way to keep up. The Jazz are just 3-6 SU and 4-5 ATS at home so far this season.
Thursday night’s total is set at 217.5 points. The OVER is 8-1 in Houston’s last nine games.
This isn’t the start that either of these teams had in mind coming into the season as both are currently sitting outside of the top eight teams in the Western Conference. There is still plenty of time to turn things around however, and a win on Thursday night would be a step in the right direction for the team that gets it.
