The Philadelphia Eagles are 9-0 straight up and 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games as a home favorite. The defending Super Bowl champions will look to extend that win streak to 10 games Thursday night when they host the Atlanta Falcons.
NFL odds 2018: Betting trends and analysis for the top games of Week 1
The NFL regular season begins this week, with the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, and Los Angeles Chargers among the betting favorites.

Philadelphia is a 2.5-point home favorite on the Week 1 NFL odds over Atlanta at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This game is a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game in which the Eagles prevailed as 2.5-point home underdogs. Atlanta enters this matchup with an 11-3 ATS record in its last 14 evening games.
On Sunday, the Super Bowl runner-ups will take the field at home as the New England Patriots (-6) host the Houston Texans. New England is 18-0 SU and 13-5 ATS in its last 18 games against AFC South opponents, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, including a 7-0 SU and 5-2 ATS record against the Texans.
Houston is hoping for different results with quarterback Deshaun Watson getting his first crack at the Patriots.
NFL Week 1 Betting Lines
Chicago at Green Bay (-7.5)
New York Jets at Detroit (-6.5)
Houston at New England (-6)
San Francisco at Minnesota (-6)
Los Angeles Rams (-4.5) at Oakland
Kansas City at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)
Seattle at Denver (-3)
Atlanta at Philadelphia (-2.5)
The two favorites to win the AFC West collide in a meaningful Week 1 matchup when the Los Angeles Chargers (-3) host the Kansas City Chiefs. Los Angeles shook off an 0-4 SU and ATS start last season to finish 8-4 SU and 9-3 ATS down the stretch and is a popular pick on the odds to win the AFC West this season. They will have to find a way to solve the Chiefs however as Kansas City is 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS in its last eight games against Los Angeles.
Other big games this Sunday include a Super Bowl XLVIII rematch in Seattle at Denver (-3), San Francisco at Minnesota (-6) and a Sunday night matchup of Chicago at Green Bay (-7.5). The 49ers are 1-8 ATS in their last nine road games against Minnesota and 0-5 SU in their last five.
Week 1 of the new NFL season wraps up with a Monday Night Football doubleheader of the New York Jets at Detroit (-6.5) followed by the Los Angeles Rams (-4.5) at Oakland. Third-overall pick Sam Darnold will make his NFL debut in New York’s game hoping to continue a trend in which the road team is 4-1 SU in the last five games between the Jets and Lions.
