Exotic wagers in spotlight on Super Bowl 2019 prop bets board

With hundreds of betting props available, Super Bowl bettors have plenty of options for the Patriots vs. Rams matchup on Sunday.

The New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams both enter Super Bowl LIII with a 4-0 straight-up record over their last four games. One of these teams will improve to five straight wins and become Super Bowl champions, but there are hundreds of other things to bet on in the process on Sunday.

New England is a 2.5-point favorite on the Super Bowl line at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. But while just about everyone betting on the game will have action on that game line, not everyone will be honing in on these other options on the prop board.

Will any scoring drive take less time than it takes Gladys Knight to sing the national anthem? “Yes” is a -140 over “No” at +100, and this seems like a pretty good price on the “Yes” side on those Super Bowl prop bets.

Both of these teams have explosive offenses that are capable of breaking a huge play for a touchdown on any given play. You also have whichever team gets the ball to end the first half potentially going into a two-minute offense for at least a field goal. Assuming Ms. Knight doesn’t get through the song too fast, this one should be a live wager.

While a big play may be liable to happen at any time with these two teams, it probably won’t come from a non-QB throwing a touchdown pass. This prop is a bit chalky at -400 that a non-QB won’t throw a touchdown pass (compared to a +250 payout if one does), but it could be worth laying down the extra juice.

Los Angeles’ punter Johnny Hekker threw four passes for two completions this season and Julian Edelman threw two passes for two completions this season. None of those catches went for touchdowns.

On the more entertaining side of things, Tony Romo’s line for correctly predicting plays is set at 7.5 correct calls (Over -120, Under -120) on the Super Bowl props. Romo has made a name for himself as an analyst with his excellent play-predicting abilities, and he’s probably used this extra week off to study these two offenses to have more nice calls up his sleeve.

Lastly, the total number of commercials in the Super Bowl is set at 96 (Over -120, Under -120). For bettors who can’t wait for the game to return, some betting action on commercials could spice things up.
