Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 60-22 straight up and 47-31-4 against the spread regular season last year en route to his first NBA MVP Award. The big man will try to earn the award for the second straight season in 2019-20 and is the betting favorite to do so at sportsbooks.
Antetokounmpo leads Curry, Harden on 2020 NBA MVP odds
Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the field of NBA MVP candidates on the betting lines at sportsbooks heading into the 2019-20 season.

Antetokounmpo is going off at +300 on the NBA MVP odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. It is difficult to believe that Antetokounmpo is still only 24 years old; he has improved every season he has been in the league and there is no reason to believe that he can’t improve again this year. The Bucks star set career highs in points (27.7 per game), rebounds (12.5 per game) and assists (5.9) last year, and after a disappointing playoff run he will be working on his shooting this offseason. He’s the one to beat.
With Kevin Durant’s departure to Brooklyn and Klay Thompson sidelined with a torn ACL, the Warriors are no longer a favorite on the odds to win the NBA Championship. Stephen Curry, however, has returned to the top of the list of favorites to win MVP at +500. The point guard won back-to-back MVP awards in 2015 and 2016 before allowing his personal production to take a hit with the addition of Durant. Now that the entire offense will run through Curry, the sky is the limit on the numbers the sharp-shooter may put up next season.
Basketball fans are wondering how the union between two ball-dominant players like James Harden and Russell Westbrook is going to work out in Houston this season. Oddsmakers seem to believe that the arrangement will more heavily favor Harden, who is going off at +700 to win MVP while Westbrook is going off at +2500 on those NBA odds. Westbrook won NBA MVP in 2017 and Harden won the award in 2018.
Other top contenders to win MVP this season include Kawhi Leonard (+800), LeBron James (+900), Anthony Davis (+1000), Joel Embiid (+1200), Luka Doncic (+1600), and Nikola Jokic (+1600). Leonard’s new teammate in Los Angeles, Paul George, is in the same tier as his former teammate Russell Westbrook going off at +2500 to win the award.
