NFL Preseason Week 3 Thu/Fri odds and betting trends

The New England Patriots are 8-4 straight up and 7-5 against the spread in 12 preseason home games since the start of the 2013 season. The defending Super Bowl champions will try to pick up a win in front of their home fans on Thursday night when they host the Carolina Panthers.

Baltimore is a 4.5-point road favorite in Philadelphia on Thursday and Atlanta is a 3-point home underdog hosting Washington.

The Miami Dolphins are 5-0 SU and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five preseason games against the Jacksonville Jaguars per the OddsShark NFL Database. The Dolphins can extend their preseason winning streak against the Jaguars to six with a win on Thursday as 3.5-point favorites at home.

Rounding out this Thursday’s preseason slate are the New York Giants vs. Cincinnati (-3) and

Green Bay (-3) vs. Oakland. The Raiders have gone 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four preseason games including a 13-6 preseason win against the Packers last season.

The Cleveland Browns improved to 9-1 SU and ATS over their last 10 preseason games with a 21-18 road win over the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday. The Browns look to stay hot on Friday when they visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as 3-point road favorites. The Bucs are 1-5 SU and 0-6 ATS in their last six preseason home games.

In the later game on Friday, the Buffalo Bills are a 1-point favorite on the road against the Detroit Lions. In 10 preseason meetings between these two teams since 2008, the Lions hold a 9-1 SU and ATS advantage.
