When the Barclays ATP World Tour begins on Sunday, it will bring the top eight ATP players in the world for matches and meetings. The matches will be played to determine the winner of the season-ending tournament.

The meetings, however, will be about the tour’s future and the next ATP chief executive. There will be board meetings and player meetings allowing for all sorts of discussions, but it’s certain that the taxing ATP schedule will be part of the major discussion.
Current ATP Chief Executive Adam Helfant will be leaving his post after three years at the top. No one is sure when a successor will be named, despite Helfant’s announcement of his exit coming in June.
Beyond that, ATP Player Council president Roger Federer, along with vice president Rafael Nadal, will renew the talks of calendar changes.
Calendar changes like extending the U.S. Open have already been brought up and turned down, but Nadal and his countryman David Ferrer want a change even to the Davis Cup schedule.
