With an opening round win at the Valencia (Spain) Open, doubles partners Mike and Bob Bryan earned the No. 1 year end ranking. The Wednesday victory solidified the 33-year-old twin’s spot from being overtaken by No. 2 duo Nenad Zimonjic and Michael Llodra.
Mike And Bob Bryan Earn No. 1 Year-End Ranking For 7th Time
Mark and Bob Bryan secured the No. 1 year-end ranking again.

In 2011, the Bryan brothers won two majors with the Australian Open and Wimbledon. They now have 11 career grand slam titles to their family name. They also won two ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles - one at Madrid and the other at Monte Carlo.
The year end ATP ranking of No. 1 marks the seventh time in history the duo has finished at the top. Both brothers have been ranked No. 1 in individual doubles rankings for 265 weeks.
John McEnroe’s record is 270 weeks. The Bryan twins will surpass that record on Dec. 12.
“Breaking McEnroe’s record is something that is hard to fathom,” said Bob. “He’s such a legend and to achieve something like this won’t truly set in for awhile. Mike added, “It’s always a special feeling finishing the year as the top team. I think it’s more satisfying than winning a Slam because it represents the season as a whole.
”When we now look back at 2011, it will now be with a lot of fond memories. The level of tennis always keeps getting stronger, so I’m most proud of our willingness to improve as we get older.
