Despite withdrawing from last week’s Swiss Indoors with a strained right buttock, Andy Murray will be playing in this week’s BNP Paribas Masters - the final tournament before the season-end Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London.
Andy Murray Will Play In BNP Paribas Masters

“It was just a freak thing last week,” said Murray. “But over the last couple of days I’ve got some good practice in and I feel absolutely fine.”
Murray enters the tournament with the No. 2 seed behind Novak Djokovic. Djokovic was upset last week in the semifinal round in Basel to Kei Nishikori of Japan.
The tournament in Paris will take place from Nov. 7 to Nov. 13. Murray opens play against the winner of tomorrow’s match between Jeremy Chardy and Marcel Granollers. Murray has never won the tournament at Palais Omnisports de Bercy in Paris.
“It’s a big challenge - not many guys have been able to win it. But this week I need to try and get some matches in; I don’t really want to go in there with not having played a match for five or six weeks.”
Currently ranked No. 3 (bumping 16-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer out of the top 3 for the first time since 2003), some wins in Paris could put Murray in the No. 2 spot. Before pulling out of the Swiss Indoors, Murray had won three consecutive titles from Bangkok to Tokoyo and then in Shanghai.
