Venus Williams’ Tennis Outfit Snaps Midmatch

Venus Williams’s serve wasn’t the only thing that broke in her Milan exhibition match on Sunday.

The left strap of Williams’s dress, from her self-designed sportswear line EleVen, snapped during the American’s match against Italy’s Flavia Pennetta. Williams was able to cover up before exposing anything but had to run and change - into her third outfit of the day.

Here’s a photo of it, via the Orlando Sentinel:

Williams is known for her on-court exposure from her provocative match outfits (like the red and black lacy dress from the 2010 French Open or the netted, bare-midriff shirt of her early round matches in Melbourne), but never anything like this.

After a long wardrobe change, Williams offered her opponent popcorn and the crowd a new outfit, but she was unable to walk away with the match. Williams lost 7-5, 7-3.
