World No. 2 Novak Djokovic has reached his first-ever Wimbledon finals, where he’ll 2010 grass champ Rafa Nadal.

    Wimbledon Men’s Semifinals: Rafa Nadal Eliminates Andy Murray, Breaks Great Britain’s Heart

    With Great Britain hoping to finally end their collective 75-year Wimbledon drought, Andy Murray once again came up just a little short. The Scottish 24-year-old crashed out of the Wimbledon semifinals for the third straight year, falling to Rafael Nadal 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 on Friday. Nadal will now play Novak Djokovic -- who guaranteed his No. 1 ranking with his semifinal win -- in Sunday’s championship.

    Murray looked poised avenge last year’s semifinal defeat to Nadal after winning the first set. But Nadal stormed back in the second, at one point winning seven straight games to take control of the match.

    Wimbledon 2011: Novak Djokovic Clinches Spot In Wimbledon Final, No. 1 Ranking

    In the first Gentlemen’s Singles semifinal at Wimbledon 2011, No. 2 Novak Djokovic survived No. 12 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6(4), 6-2, 7-6(9), 6-3, thereby clinching his first trip to a Wimbledon final and the ATP No. 1 ranking.

    After failing to convert on two match points in the third set, Djokovic wasted no time taking control of the fourth, breaking Tsonga in the second game of the set and never letting the flashy Frenchman back in.
