Rafael Nadal Easily Handles Andy Murray, Advances To US Open Final

While Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic battled it out in a lengthy five-set match on Saturday morning at the US Open, Rafael Nadal made quick work of his opponent in the evening matchup, downing Andy Murray in four sets. Nadal had little trouble with Murray, save for a third-set slip-up that simply prolonged the inevitable.

Nadal, the No. 2 seed, took the first set, 6-4, in a sign of things to come. In the second, he was even better in the second set, cruising to a 6-2 win and taking complete control.

But in the third, Murray bounced back, picking up his first set win of the night, 6-3. Though Murray showed signs of life suddenly, it was short-lived as Nadal took him the fourth-set win, 6-2, to take the match.

The end result was a 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win for Nadal, setting up what promises to be another massive final. Nadal will face Djokovic, who downed Federer earlier, in the US Open finals.
