Seed-wise, if 28th-seeded Serena Williams defeated ninth-seed Samantha Stosur in Sunday’s U.S. Open Women’s Final, that would be considered an upset. Yet, when it really comes down to it, Williams has proven that she is anything but an underdog.

Serena Williams looks to win her fourth U.S. Open championship against upstart Samantha Stosur Sunday at 4 p.m. EDT.
Williams, in her fifth career U.S. Open Final, will look to add her 14th overall major title and fourth U.S. Open crown to her collection when she faces Stosur at 4 p.m. EDT.
In dominating fashion, Williams defeated the top-ranked player in the world, Caroline Wozniacki, 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals. Speaking of domination, Williams has yet to drop a set during this year’s U.S. Open.
Meanwhile, Stosur, the 27-year-old from Australia, will play in her first U.S. Open Final after defeating 92nd-ranked Angelique Kerber 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 Saturday. Stosur may not be as decorated as Williams, but has earned some impressive accolades during this year’s tournament. Stosur is the first Australian woman to reach the U.S. Open Final since 1977 and she played the longest tiebreaker in women’s major tournament history as well as won the longest match time-wise during this tournament.
The match will be televised on CBS.
