VIDEO: Serena Williams Has Selective Amnesia, Doesn’t Remember Her Rant in U.S. Open Final

During Serena Williams’ loss in the U.S. Open to Samantha Stosur Sunday, she and the chair umpire had a teensy, weensy disagreement. Serena yelled “Come on!” after a great shot before it reached Stosur, which prompted the umpire to award Stosur the point and, more importantly, the break in the first game of the second set.

Afterwards, microphones picked up Serena’s tirade at the umpire, during which she called the Greek “a hater,” “unattractive inside,” and warning her to not cross paths with Serena in a hallway of all places.

Afterwards, Serena had to respond to reporters. Or did she?

Apparently, this stuff totally happened, but it was like, all emotional, and now she can’t remember. She’s just super excited to be there, guys.

Really, this is nothing new for Williams, as she’s been known to rant and rave at an official on occasion. It’s just a shame she couldn’t own up to it.

For someone who’s so beloved by the media, and derives so much of her popularity from glowing pieces written about her by the very people in that room, it’s a shame she decided to treat them all like idiots. The only one who looks like an idiot in this ordeal is the one seated at that microphone.
