The city of Indianapolis might have been known, in recent years, for the Butler Bulldogs, the site of two Final Fours (men’s and women’s), one Big Ten championship game and most recently Super Bowl XLVI.

But to celebrities and average joes of the Hoosier state, it’s always been known for one thing: St. Elmo’s Steak House -- the best steak house in the city which boasts more than 100 years of experience.
St. Elmo’s Steak House is known for many things, but among the most popular is their “World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail.”
What’s so famous about a bunch of pink sea things hanging over the side of a silver bowl all for $15.95?
Well, that would be the cocktail sauce. In the dish, it looks like regular cocktail sauce - yummy and ready to be globbed onto your shrimp before you pop them in your mouth.
I’ve seen many a grown men cry over doing just that. St. Elmo’s cocktail sauce isn’t just horseradish hot or wasabi hot. It’s horseradish plus wasabi hot.
So why, on a sports blog am I telling you about this Indiana delicacy that I love?
Because American tennis player Andy Roddick and his crew hit up St. Elmo’s Steak House when they were in town for the Super Bowl. His friends all tried and either cried or spit out the shrimp. Roddick, however, takes the shrimp stone cold -- making it the first major accomplishment he’s won since the 2003 U.S. Open.
