Delray Beach Results Day 4: American John Isner Continues To Win In Florida

A year ago, John Isner was knocked from Delray Beach in his opening match debut.

A year later, Isner was the No. 1 seed of a tournament he hadn’t won a single match at.

After Friday’s defeat of Australia’s Bernard Tomic, he has now won three.

America’s No. 2 player had a pretty easy time with the teenage Aussie, defeating him 6-3, 6-2 in 56 minutes. Isner won four of his nine service games at love. He was only broken once.

The world No. 11 reached his first semifinal of the year.

From the AP:

“I played well right from the get-go,” Isner said. “When he has time, that’s when he gets comfortable. So I wanted to keep the points short, which is what I want to do every match.”

Isner will face the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between fellow American and the tournament’s No. 4 seed Andy Roddick and Russian Kevin Anderson.

The winner of Delray will collect $75,780.
