Serena Williams will step on the red clay.
Serena Williams Ready For First Overseas Fed Cup In A Decade

On Saturday, the American Fed Cup team will face Ukraine.
That step will also secure her spot in the 2012 London Olympics. Williams had to compete in two Fed Cup matches this year to be considered for a spot on the Olympic team. Her first Fed Cup match was against Belarus. That match took place in Massachusetts.
This match will take place in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second most-populated city.
That step will make the first time Williams competed in a Fed Cup match overseas in more than a decade.
The world No. 9 ranked singles player will face 17-year-old Elina Svitolina. The match will be the second singles match of the day.
While singles is Williams strong point on the WTA -- she has 13 Grand Slam titles -- she doesn’t own a single gold medal from singles play in the Olympics. She does have two gold medals in doubles. From the AP:
“For me, any medal is great,” Williams said. “If I win singles, it would be awesome. If I win doubles, it would be awesome. Or if I win mixed.”
