Serena Williams is finally on a roll on one of her favorite surfaces, clay. She streaked her way to the semifinals in Charleston, S.C., where she met Samantha Stosur, who was fresh off defeating other the Williams sister, Venus, in the quarters.

Serena and Venus are each others’ biggest fans when they’re not playing each other, and Serena clearly was out for revenge. She thrashed Stosur, 6-1, 6-1, to advance to the final, where she’ll meet ninth-seeded Lucie Safarova.

Stosur was the second seed in the tournament and is a terrific player but Serena Williams, who has won two French Opens, playing with a purpose on clay is an unstoppable force. She hammered Stosur with her powerful serve and agility all match long. Her ability to return serve, however, made her unbeatable Saturday, breaking Stosur multiple times in each set. Safarova hopes Serena won’t bring the same game on Sunday in the final, or that one could also be a romp.
