Belgian and mommy Kim Clijsters has announced her second retirement date.
Kim Clijsters To Retire After U.S. Open

The former world No. 1 will end her career when her run at the U.S. Open ends; that means sometime at the end of August, start of September.
Clijsters already retired once. After a two-year hiatus, she returned to the WTA in 2009. Since then, she’s added three Grand Slam titles to her list. She is a four-time Grand Slam champion.
The U.S. Open holds a special spot in Clijsters’ career. She won her first in 2005 and her second in her return in 2009.
Injuries, like an ankle sprain during the Australian Open that she played through, have forced retirement from many tournaments for the 28-year-old. She recently pulled out of the 2012 French Open. Clijsters is hoping to return to play by Wimbledon. From Reuters:
“In principle, I will stop after the U.S. Open. That’s the tournament where I have had my greatest triumphs and it is therefore very special to me,” she told a news conference at the headquarters of her sponsors Galaxo in Paal, Belgium.
“The (Flushing Meadows) stadium is about 45 minutes from our house in the United States and so my in-laws can be there.”
