Gael Monfils has had some pretty good runs at Roland Garros -- quarterfinals finishes in 2009 and 2011 and a semifinal apperance in 2008.
French Open 2012: Gael Monfils Withdraws With Injury
Gael Monfils is out of the French Open after suffering a right knee injury that will reportedly keep him out of action for three weeks

This year, he won’t even get to make a run. The ATP announced Thursday afternoon that Monfils had withdrawn from the tournament with a right knee injury.
The injury-prone Frenchman is currently ranked No. 13 in the world. There was no time set for his return, although Reuters reported he will be out for at least three weeks. Last year, the 25-year-old ended his time on the red clay of the French Open with a loss to Roger Federer.
Qualifying matches for the tournament began on May 22, but the tournament officially begins on Sunday.
Mofils has never been kept out of a French Open due to injury, but he has withdrawn from other major slams in the past.
From SI.com:
A hamstring injury kept him out of the 2007 U.S. Open and the 2008 Australian Open. That same year, in 2008, shortly before his opening match at Wimbledon, Monfils was forced to withdraw because of a shoulder injury. He also withdrew from the Wimbledon Championships in 2009 because of a wrist injury.
