Andy Murray defeated France’s Richard Gasquet, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2, on Monday to fill out the men’s draw for the quarterfinals at the 2012 French Open. Murray was broken twice in the first set, during which he committed 12 unforced errors. He roared back to win three straight sets in impressive fashion. He will face No. 6 David Ferrer for a spot in the semifinals at Roland Garros.

Murray had a near identical match against Jarkko Nieminen in the second round of the Open. He fell 1-6 in the first set in that match, too, before showing the impeccable form he is known for. On Monday, Murray committed just 17 more unforced errors over the next three sets, and won 96 of the remaining 157 points. Murray also kept Gasquet off balance with his serve, notching eight aces.
The top six seeds from the the men’s draw have all managed to make their way among the final eight players at Roland Garros, as well as No. 9 Juan Martin Del Potro and No. 12 Nicolas Amalgro.
