Serena Williams has advanced to the semifinals of the Bank of the West Classic, and she’s the clear favorite to win the title after a big upset on the other end of the draw on Saturday. No. 2 seed Marion Bartoli was dumped out of the tournament by Yanina Wickmayer in a surprising 6-3, 6-2 loss.

Williams will face No. 9 seed Sorana Cirstea in the semifinals. Cirstea pulled off an upset of her own as well, defeating No. 3 seed Dominika Cibulkova in three sets.
The other semifinal will feature Wickmayer against unseeded American Coco Vandeweghe, the niece of basketball star, coach and executive Kiki Vandeweghe. She advanced in the tournament by defeating Urszula Radwanska 6-4, 6-4.
