Wimbledon Scores 2012: Novak Djokovic Into Quarters; Rain Postpones Play

Novak Djokovic won in straight sets over Viktor Troicki, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals at the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon. Djokovic’s win was the last completed match Monday, as rain forced the roofs closed at the All England Club.

Djokovic had no problems with Trocki, a fellow Serbian. Djokovic scored on 81 percent of eligible first serves for the match, and notched 31 winners to 15 for his opponent. He won six of his eight break point opportunities, and was broken just once in three sets.

No. 4 Andy Murray’s match against Marin Cilic was suspended during the second set. Murray took the first set, and led 3-1 in the second before play was postponed until Tuesday. Mardy Fish took the first set against No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 6-4, before play was suspended with the second set in a 1-1 tie.

Brian Baker and No. 27 Philipp Kohlschreiber were scheduled to begin their fourth round match Monday, but will have to hold off until Tuesday. The match between No. 7 David Ferrer and No. 9 Juan Martin del Potro will also be played Tuesday.
