Wimbledon 2012 Scores: Novak Djokovic Advances To Face Roger Federer In Semis

Novak Djokovic advanced to the semifinals with a three-set win over No. 31 Florian Mayer, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4, in the men’s quarterfinals at the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon on Wednesday. Mayer never put up much of a fight against the No. 1 player in the world, who’s looking to repeat as Wimbledon champion. Djokovic continued his deadly consistent play, overwhelming Mayer with his serve and capping it off with an ace for the inevitable win.

Djokovic will next face No. 3 Roger Federer, also a straight-set victor in the quarters. The two highest ranked remaining players in the quarterfinals looked dominant during their concurrent matches Wednesday morning, setting up a huge clash on Friday at the All England Club. The two have never met on the grass and the match will certainly be the top draw on Friday.
