Wimbledon 2012: Roger Federer Takes Second Set As Match Moves To Rain Delay

It was another tight set in the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final, but No. 3 Roger Federer has tied this match up with a 7-5 win over No. 4 Andy Murray.

In what seemed like a sprint -- the set took no more than 40 minutes to complete -- Federer continued his exceptional volleying to tie the championship match up at one set apiece.

Federer cruised though the first game, holding Murray to love and almost making us forget about the Scottish star’s heroics to close out the first set. From there, he held Murray at bay, preventing him from converting on any of his four break point opportunities.

In the final game of the set, Federer closed with a drop shot after a lengthy volley to tie the match.

Through one game in the third set, rain has temporarily delayed the match, with Federer leading Murray 1-0.

The players have currently left the court and returned to the locker room while maintenance crews covered Center Court with a tarp. Though officials only expected a brief delay, they are now closing the roof, which will extend the break in the action.

Basically, we’re on hold here until further notice.
