Australian Open 2013 schedule and TV coverage for Sunday’s matches

Staying up late (or waking up early) to watch some tennis? Here’s what you’re in for.

Chris Hyde

The first week of the 2013 Australian Open is nearly finished, with just Round-of-16 matches finishing up before the quarterfinals can get under way. The big names — Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray on the men’s side, Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova on the women’s — are all still around, so the tournament, if you’re on some sort of funky sleep schedule where you’re awake when the good matches are on, should be pretty good.

You can see every match on ESPN3 starting at 7 p.m. On ESPN2, the fun begins at 9 p.m., after some random college all-star game, when No. 4 David Ferrer takes on No. 16 Kei Nishikori.

Then, starting at 3 a.m., fourth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska takes on former world No. 1 — and current 13-seed — Ana Ivanovic on ESPN2.

Despite ESPN’s cadre of networks, those are the only matches scheduled to air Saturday night and Sunday morning. During those times, however, they’re pretty good about switching from match-to-match, depending on what’s going on. A full TV listing can be found here (PDF).
