Sony Open Tennis 2013: Serena Williams to begin quest for 6th title

Williams will begin her journey toward six Sony Open titles when she begins her season as the sport’s top-ranked player on Thursday. Maria Sharapova may have something to say about that as she comes into the event with the most momentum as the second-ranked player behind Williams. The event could be a collision course between the two, which would make for an epic final.
On the men’s side, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are the top two seeded players and will each get an opening-round bye. American James Blake will also be in the mix as he faces 20-year-old Ryan Harrison in what should be an entertaining first-round match.
Top-ranked American and World No. 23 John Isner will also get a bye in the first round and face the winner of the match between Ivan Dodig and Lukas Lacko.
