Roland Garros 2013: French Open TV schedule and matches for Saturday

Top seed Novak Djokovic will be in action at the French Open on Saturday, provided we can get lucky with some good weather.

USA TODAY Sports

Cross your fingers for better weather at the 2013 French Open on Saturday. To this point, the tournament has been plagued by poor weather and delays, with every draw affected in some way. Fortunately, the second round of the singles draws came to an end and everyone is now in round three as of Saturday.

On the men’s side, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic will face his first seeded opponent of the tournament as he takes on No. 26 Grigor Dimitrov. That’s set to be the final match of the day on Court Philippe Chatrier, directly after No. 3 seed Rafael Nadal takes on No. 27 Fabio Fognini of Italy. Nadal won his matchup on Friday and is catching up with his spot in the bracket after delays on Thursday.

On the women’s side, No. 2 Maria Sharapova is back in her rightful spot after having a match delayed on Thursday as well. She’s taking on Jie Zheng of China on Saturday. No. 3 seed Victoria Azarenka will start the day off on center court, taking on No. 31 Alize Cornet prior to Sharapova’s matchup.

Television coverage begins at 5 a.m. ET on the Tennis Channel, and runs through 12 p.m. At that point, NBC will take over coverage through 3 p.m. to wrap up the day. Here are some notable matchups to look forward to (full schedule can be found here):
