2013 Wimbledon odds: Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic open as favorites

Top seeds Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams are favored to win the 2013 Wimbledon Championships, per Oddsshark, Although bookmakers foresee some strong competition for No-Djok, they expect Williams to destroy the competition.

Williams, who has won three of the last four major championships, won’t even pay even money should she win. She’s a 1/2 favorite to take home the title. Second-seeded Victoria Azarenka and third-seeded Maria Sharapova are each under 10/1 odds, with Azarenka at 7/1 and Sharapova at 15/2, but they’re practically longshots compared to Williams. Wimbledon has become somewhat of a second home for Williams, where she won last year in the Championships and in the Olympics. A win in 2013 will be her sixth, pushing her past her sister.

Djokovic is considered the best shot at winning as he hopes to reprise his 2011 victory. His odds at 7/4 are twice as good as the 7/2 odds of Andy Murray, who once again hopes to shake the 80-ish year drought of Britons not winning at Wimbledon. Rafael Nadal, winner in 2008 and 2010, is also at 7/4. Seven-time champion Roger Federer has 5/1 odds as he tries to break the all-time record for most Wimbledon titles.

The only other man given a serious shot to win is Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, sitting at 16/1 odds. The top American in the field is John Isner, a major long shot at 125/1.
