Day 7 at the Australian Open was a wild one, with heavy favorite Serena Williams falling 4-6 6-3 6-3 to Serbian upstart Ana Ivanovic, ending the American’s chance at a sixth Australian Open title.

Top-seeded Williams took the first set, but Ivanovic, the No. 14 seed, stormed back with a dominating final two sets to take the upset victory. In the quarterfinals, Ivanovic will face No. 30 Eugenie Bouchard, who defeated Casey Dellacqua 6-7 6-2 6-0 on Day 7.

In the other two women’s matches, No. 4 Na Li dispatched No. 22 Ekaterina Makarova in straight sets while No. 9 Angelique Kerber fell to No. 28 Flavia Penneta in a third-set tiebreaker. Li and Penneta will square off in the quarterfinals in what should be an exciting match.

In the men’s bracket, everything went approximately according to plan. No. 2 Novak Djokovic defeated No. 15 Fabio Fognini in straight sets, and No. 8 Stanislas Wawrinka did the same to No. 17 Tommy Robredo. Djokovic and Wawrinka will face each other in the quarterfinals. No. 7 Tomas Berdych defeated No. 19 Kevin Anderson in straight sets, and No. 3 David Ferrer recovered from a lost first set to defeat Florian Mayer. Berdych and Ferrer will square off in an enticing quarterfinals match.
