The whole bracket has now got a chance to get some court time at the 2015 Australian Open as we head into the tournament’s third day Wednesday. It should be an interesting day, especially on the women’s side of the bracket. When this group was on the court Monday, the first day of the Grand Slam, eight of the seeded women were upset.
Australian Open 2015 schedule and TV coverage for Wednesday’s matches
Simona Halep and Maria Sharapova escaped the Day 1 struggles suffered by most of the seeded women, and will be in action on Day 3, alongside Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

That includes Ana Ivanovic, the No. 5 seed, and Angelique Kerber, the No. 9 seed. It was a day full of upsets for the women and now the remainder of women on that side will be back in action Wednesday. The matches will begin on Tuesday on TV in the United States, and run until Wednesday morning, while they will be playing early in the day on Wednesday local time.
Not all of the top seeds were taken out on Monday. Among the active women for Day 3 include Ekaterina Makarova, the No. 10 seed, who will be playing unseeded Roberta Vinci. Then there’s Simona Halep, the No. 3 seed, who will be in action against Jarmila Gajdosova.
For the men, the top seeds remained mostly intact following day one. No. 11 Ernests Gulbis fell in his matchup, but the rest of the guys remained. No. 2 Roger Federer advanced and will take on Simone Bolelli, and No. 10 Grigor Dimitrov will fave Lukas Lacko. No. 6 Andy Murray and No. 3 Rafael Nadal will also be in action.
Television coverage of Day 3 will begin at 6 p.m. ET and run through 9 p.m. on the Tennis Channel. At 9 p.m., ESPN2 will pick up coverage and run through 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. Those hoping to watch online can do so at WatchESPN or the official website.
