The semifinals for both singles brackets at the 2016 Australian Open are now set. On Wednesday, No. 2 seed Andy Murray and No. 7 seed Angelique Kerber, the highest seeds in action on the day, both punched their tickets into the semifinals with victories.

Murray was taking on No. 8 seed David Ferrer and was pushed to four sets, though the three sets he did win were dominant, 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-3. Murray has played some of his best tennis this tournament and will certainly be a handful for his semifinal opponent, No. 13 seed Milos Raonic.

Raonic was facing No. 23 Gael Monfils and, like Murray, he was pushed to four sets against him. He came out on top though, beating Monfils, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

On the women’s side, Kerber punched her ticket with a win over No. 14 seed Victoria Azarenka, 6-3, 7-5. She will face unseeded Johanna Konta in the semifinals. In the other semifinal matchups, No. 1 seed Serena Williams will face No. 4 seed Agnieszka Radwanska, and No. 1 Novak Djokovic will take on No. 3 Roger Federer.

Below we have full results from Wednesday’s quarterfinal matchups.
